Senior Systems Engineer – Cloud & Compute

Location: Buffalo Grove, IL or Baltimore, MD
Compensation: $145,000–$170,000 base + bonus

Join a high-performing Cloud & Compute engineering team within a global, multibillion-dollar enterprise. This is a hands-on senior role for engineers who enjoy designing, modernizing, and operating large-scale hybrid environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and modernize hybrid infrastructure across Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, and Windows Server

  • Lead cloud migration and workload modernization initiatives in Azure (IaaS & PaaS)

  • Optimize virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery platforms

  • Drive standardization, security hardening, and automation across enterprise systems

  • Partner closely with application, network, and security teams on global initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years building and supporting enterprise application hosting environments

  • Deep experience with Windows Server, VMware, and Hyper-V

  • 5+ years hands-on Azure experience

  • Strong troubleshooting, automation, and performance optimization skills

  • Experience in large, complex, global environments

Nice to Have

  • Veeam or similar backup solutions

  • Azure, MCSE, Security, or ITIL certifications
