Our client is an IT Solution Provider that specializes a broad range of solutions for enterprise clients with focus on Networking, Security, Cloud, Data Center solutions, and managed services. Due to continued rapid growth of their Managed Security Services Practice, they are looking to hire an experienced Security Operations Center (SOC) Team Lead. This is a great opportunity to join this highly sought after team in a senior role, work with the latest cyber security technologies, and take your career (and compensation) to the next level.

Position:
The role will focus on leading the daily operations of the SOC team of engineers and analysts (as player/coach), and helping to design and expand their SOC to be a state-of-the-art Security Operations Center facility. You and the team will work proactively and reactively to security related issues for their our mid-market and enterprise level clients. 

• Helping to research and design the buildout and expansion of the Security Operations Center, working closely with the NOC leadership team.
• Reviewing alerts, alarms, dashboards, and reports to determine relevancy and urgency of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and reporting on security vulnerabilities in systems and the software that runs on them.
• Utilizing technologies including SIEM, AV, EDR, IDS, IPS, email gateways, and web gateways to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats.
• Collaborating with other teams to assess risk and coordinate response.
• Recommending detection mechanisms for exploit and or intrusion related attempts.
• Providing subject matter expertise on network-based attacks, network traffic analysis, and intrusion methodologies.
• Analyzing attachments and URLs for malicious code.
• Practical expertise with of networking; TCP/IP Fundamentals, knowledge of network level exploits.
• Strong understanding of IDS/IPS technologies, trends, processes, and methodologies.

Experience Needed:

• Must have 5+ years of security operations/SOC experience
• Must have good network and communications systems troubleshooting experience
• Experience with APIs and programmability
• Excellent analytical ability and communications skills.
• Must have good Interpersonal relationship skills and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• CISSP and/or CISM certifications preferred
• 4 year degree preferred
