One of our clients, a global leader in the Consumer Goods industry, has retained us to find a great IT leader for their CIO position. The incumbent will be replacing the existing CIO who is retiring after many years with the company. The CIO will be leading and actively participating in the architecture and deployment of their strategic and innovative global IT programs. This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the most innovative companies and recognized brands in the Consumer Goods industry; a fast growing 2.5B business (division of a publicly held company) with 2.5K employees and major operations around the world.

The Role

The CIO will lead the IT organization and be an active participant in the development, implementation, and management of their IT strategies and initiatives. The position will be responsible for leading the IT Infrastructure, IT Applications, and IT Support functions. This includes their ERP platforms (SAP), digital transformation and cloud initiatives, security enhancement programs, and alignment of the global IT initiatives.

  • Leading and inspiring an organization of IT infrastructure, IT applications, and IT support professionals as well as numerous global resources responsible for the global expansion, continuing enhancement, and support.
  • Planning, establishing, and realizing the global IT strategy and technology roadmap
  • Leveraging emerging technologies to support the needs of the global business.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley processes and controls)
  • Acting as the technology partner for both IT and business teams across the organization
  • Planning and managing the budget for IT projects, maintenance, operating expenses, and capital expense

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 15 years of experience managing and leading IT teams responsible for infrastructure, applications, systems development, systems and end user support, and compliance
  • 5+ years of experience working in the consumer products / consumer goods industries is preferred -- leading large cross functional teams or enterprise wide programs, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholder across the organization.
  • Must have at least 5+ years of experience with SAP ERP solutions
  • Must have a collaborative management style (ability to manage, coach, mentor and develop employees). 
  • Must have an excellent understanding of, and interest in, current and emerging technologies
  • Must be an excellent team player - collaborates well with others to solve problems
  • Must have excellent analytical skills - strong problem-solving skills; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
  • Must be change oriented - actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change and innovation.
  • Must be able to travel 10%-30% (domestic and international travel as needed), while leveraging collaboration tools to enhance productivity (video conferencing, etc.)
  • A Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s degree a plus
